Presenter- Mark Fuller. Fire Inspector with the Westfield Fire Department, Indiana.

This presentation focuses on the home fire safety needs of those with a Hearing Disability.
Mr Fuller's duties consist of inspecting all businesses, churches, apartment complexes, and any public building if asked by homeowners. He will conduct at-home Fire and Life safety inspections to give advice. mfuller@weatfield.in.gov

Dr Michael Harvey Oct 7 2023 Speaker: Psychological Impact of Hearing Loss
Dr. Michael A. Harvey, PhD, ABPP provides training and consultation on mental health issues having to do with hearing loss, including consultation and training for audiologists regarding motivational interviewing and the psychological aspects of patient care. As a Clinical Psychologist, he has a private practice in Framingham, Massachusetts and was a consultant faculty at Salus University, where he taught online courses relating to the psychosocial aspects of hearing loss. He has published over 50 articles in the field and his latest books are Listen with the Heart: Relationships and Hearing Loss and The Odyssey of Hearing Loss: Tales of Triumph.

Topics will include key tests that you might experience during an audiology visit and “new” hearing solutions, like Over-The-Counter Hearing Aids. The discussion will wrap up with an open Q & A. BIO: Cathryn Luckoski has been an audiologist for 28 years, She specializes in implantable solutions for severe to profound hearing loss, but treats all levels of deficit. Cathryn has worked in clinics and in the hearing device industry. She is currently part of a team of clinical audiologists at Ascension St. Vincent in Carmel, IN. Beyond the clinic, Cathryn enjoys all forms of outside play with her family and Golden Retriever, Juni.

Born: Grafton, Ohio
Education: Undergraduate: Bachelor of Science – Exercise Science, Ithaca College, Ithaca, NY
Medical School: Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Athens, OH
Residency: Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dayton, OH
Fellowship: Neurotology Swedish Neuroscience Institute, Seattle, WA
Sees patients at: Englewood, Centerville and Dayton Children’s offices
Surgeries performed at: Grandview Medical Center, Miami Valley South Hospital, Dayton Children’s Hospital Main and South Campus.
Dr. Prueter completed residency in general ear nose and throat and fellowship in neurotology. He performs pediatric and adult sinus and head and neck surgery. His primary clinical interest is neurotology, the surgical and medical management for disorders of hearing, balance, and facial movement. He treats disorders of the ear canal, ear drum, middle ear bones, mastoid, inner ear (cochlea and vestibular labyrinth), and nerves traveling to the brainstem. He is part of a collaborative team of neurosurgeons and skull base surgeons who treat tumors of the lateral skull base, including acoustic neuromas.
Dr. Prueter is the recipient of numerous awards including the AOCOO-HNS** Council of Residents and Fellows Presidential Award. He has been published in various journals including the American Journal of Otolaryngology and Journal of Otology and Neurotology.
In his spare time, Dr. Prueter enjoys spending time with his family and wilderness hiking and biking adventures.

Cristina Duarte works as the Director of Regulatory Affairs and In-House Counsel for MezmoCorp (dba InnoCaption), a position she has held for nearly six years. In this role, Ms. Duarte’s work spans the wide variety of regulatory, compliance, and advocacy issues that currently face providers of accessibility technologies. As the daughter of two individuals with a hearing loss, Ms. Duarte brings a passion about the fundamental importance of offerings such as IP CTS to her work. Ms. Duarte received her J.D. from American University Washington College of Law and her B.A. from Hood College. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Northern Virginia Resource Center for Deaf & Hard of Hearing Persons and regularly volunteers through the Northern Virginia Pro Bono Law Center.

Gael Hannan is a public speaker, humorist and hearing health advocate who grew up with a hearing loss that is now severe to profound. She writes a weekly blog on hearing loss for HearingHealthMatters.org, and is the Consumer Editor for two Canadian professional hearing-related journals. Gael's articles have appeared in many North American publications and she is a sought-after speaker for her funny and insightful performances on living with hearing loss.
Gael lives with her husband and son and divides her time between Ontario and the west coast....
